Relationships. Our most important relationship is with the wonderfully courageous people we represent. Our clients are financially, physically and psychologically injured. They need our help to navigate the complex legal system. Our relationship is one of trust. Our clients trust us to understand them as people and respect their needs and goals. They also trust us to do everything the law allows to win their cases. Earning our clients' trust is our most important goal.
The close relationship between the people who work here is critically important to our mission of effectively representing clients. Lawyers and legal assistants work as a team. Cases typically have two lawyers and one or two legal assistants. We strongly believe in the old adage "two heads are better than one." Teamwork also builds job satisfaction. The legal team that works on a case enjoys its work and enjoys working together.
Our relationship with judges and lawyers is the firm's other key relationship. We take our obligation to the justice system seriously. Firm lawyers are leaders in legal education, legal service and professionalism. Our national and local reputation as effective and dedicated advocates stems from years of working with lawyers and judges to improve the profession.
Responsibilities. When we accept a case and agree to help a client, we take on a series of responsibilities. One responsibility is to care about our clients and their future well-being.
Another responsibility is to avoid taking on more work that we can accomplish. We are selective in the cases we take so our clients get the attention they deserve. Cases do not get dusty on our shelves.
Yet another responsibility is to work hard, work smart and not give up. Clients hire us to get a job done. Every case involves long hours of hard work. We pride ourselves on finding the most efficient and cost effective way to achieve the best possible result, whether by verdict or settlement.
In every case, we fight to hold wrongdoers responsible for their actions. Businesses are not hurt by other businesses, but by the people in those businesses who engage in fraud and other wrongful acts. People are not hurt in a wreck by the car or truck that hits them, but by the people who drive them, design their brakes, or fail to maintain the roads. We believe an important part of our mission and that of the civil justice system is to make those people accept responsibility for the harms they have caused. In doing so, we obtain fair compensation for our clients and prevent future injuries.
