Bailey Kennedy was founded in 2001 by John R. Bailey. He has been recommended to the President of the United States for a Judgeship on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit by Senator Harry Reid. Bailey is a well-known community leader in Nevada. He serves on the Board of Directors for Boyd Gaming Corporation (NYSE: BYD) and has served on the Board of Directors of SHFL entertainment, Inc. (NASDAQ: SHFL), is a member of the executive committee of the Public Education Foundation, and chairman of the governing board for the Andre Agassi College Preparatory Academy. Bailey Kennedy shareholder Dennis L. Kennedy’s practice focuses on business and professional liability litigation. He has been listed with a “1” ranking in the Chambers USA category of Litigation: General/Commercial in Nevada since 2003. He has also been named one of the Top 75 “Mountain States Super Lawyers” every year since 2007 and a “Nevada Super Lawyer” every year since 2007. One of Nevada’s most renowned litigators, Kennedy has for the past 14 consecutive years been named one of the Best Lawyers In America for Bet-The-Company litigation, commercial litigation and healthcare law. Kennedy has been practicing law in Nevada for 39 years and has represented many of the country’s leading drug, food, health care, insurance, tobacco, hotel-casino, and other companies in both the enforcement and defense of their rights. He is a former adjunct professor of law at UNLV’s Boyd School of Law and co-editor of the Nevada Civil Practice Manual -- the definitive authority on Nevada civil practice and procedure. Mr. Kennedy is active in the community and serves as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Nathan Adelson Hospice in Las Vegas. Joshua M. Dickey is a shareholder in the firm and was chosen by Super Lawyers as a “Mountain States Super Lawyer” every year since 2010, a “Mountain States Rising Star” in 2009 and a “Nevada Rising Star” in 2008. Dickey’s legal practice focuses on complex civil litigation, including disputes in such areas as commercial law, corporate law, business torts, and constitutional law. He is a member of the Southern Nevada Disciplinary Board of the State Bar of Nevada and served for 10 years on the editorial staff of the Nevada Civil Practice Manual. In 2011, Bailey Kennedy promoted Sarah E. Harmon to partner. Harmon has been a member of the firm since 2006 and practices in the area of complex civil litigation, including disputes in such areas as class actions, product defects, tobacco litigation, business torts, and commercial and corporate law. In 2014, Joseph A. Liebman was promoted to partner from associate. Mr. Liebman has been with Bailey Kennedy since 2008 and practices in the area of civil litigation, including contract and real estate disputes, product liability defense, professional liability defense, and health care litigation. In 2021 Paul C. Williams was promoted from associate to partner. Mr. Williams has been with the firm since 2010. He practices in the area of complex commercial litigation, class action litigation and appellate advocacy including disputes involving commercial and corporate law, business torts and healthcare law. He also represents clients in matters involving professional responsibility and legal ethics, including discipline defense and attorney disqualification.
