Our firm began in Charleston, West Virginia in 1920 with three lawyers engaged in general practice. It has grown, through expansions and mergers, into a regional full-service law firm with more than 110 attorneys and a staff of more than 150 professionals, serving clients in West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Ohio, Maryland, and throughout the world. With the addition of a fifth West Virginia office (in Wheeling), as well as our office in Southpointe, Pennsylvania, allows us to better serve our clients in the oil and gas industry who are working in the Marcellus Shale and Utica Shale regions.
Other Bowles Rice offices in West Virginia are located in Charleston (West Virginia's capital city); Morgantown (home to West Virginia University); Parkersburg (on the WV-Ohio border); and Martinsburg (located less than an hour's drive from Washington, DC as well as the borders of Maryland, Virginia and Pennsylvania). The firm also has an office in the northwestern portion of the Commonwealth of Virginia, in Winchester, the county seat of Frederick County.
