Focus on Banking, Commercial and Consumer Financial Services
Established in 1997,Hudson
Cook, LLP focuses on state and federal banking, commercial and consumer financial
services and privacy compliance, regulation, enforcement, and supervision. From
our 13 offices across the country, we work to provide local, national and
international clients with practical, efficient and innovative solutions that
advance their underlying business goals. We accomplish this by leveraging the
knowledge of our attorneys, who possess a deep understanding of the
extraordinarily complex and interrelated laws and regulations applicable to the
consumer financial services industry.
Cook’s attorneys stay at the forefront of compliance as new developments in the
banking and consumer finance industries unfold. As financial service delivery
continues to move into the digital space, we are there to help our clients
address new challenges and seize new opportunities. We closely watch
developments among federal and state agencies and legislative bodies to
anticipate new laws and regulations as well as changes to existing laws and regulations.
We apply our knowledge to help reduce our clients’ risk exposure by routinely
assisting with compliance programs and oversight. Should a client come under
investigation by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), Federal Trade
Commission (FTC), Department of Justice (DOJ) or state regulators, we are there
to defend them.

us to adeptly anticipate our clients’ opportunities or obstacles and identify

in-house counsel point of view or that of a governmental regulator.
Cook attorneys hold leadership positions in many legal and industry groups, and
we regularly speak and publish articles on consumer financial services compliance
topics. Fourteen partners of the firm are Fellows of the American College of
Consumer Financial Services Lawyers, two of whom have received the college’s prestigious
“Lifetime Achievement Award.” Many of our partners are past and present leaders
in the Consumer Financial Services, Banking and UCC Committees of the Business
Law Section of the American Bar Association.
