Attorneys Margaret Strickland and Mollie McGraw received a 7-figure verdict against two Las Cruces Police Officers for excessive force, battery and unlawful arrest on behalf of their clients, a married couple, in a civil rights case that was tried in U.S. Federal Court in Las Cruces in February 2017. The federal jury found the defendants were liable and awarded $1.6 million.
In 2015, Attorney Mollie McGraw became one of the few attorneys in New Mexico to receive an 8-figure jury verdict. She and her co-counsel Ben Davis represent the estate and two children of a 31-year old man killed when a bullet pierced the front door of his rented condo at a crime-ridden complex in Albuquerque. A Santa Fe jury found the defendants, a condo association and property management company, were liable and returned a $12 million.
